Four puppies abandoned outside the Bergen County Animal Shelter will hit the big time this Sunday in the 8th annual “Puppy Bowl.”

Eli’s coming. So are Cruz, Prince and Tuck.

Those are the names of four German Shepherd-mix puppies who will be part of the program on the Animal Planet during Super Bowl Sunday.

The show, which airs from 3-5 p.m., features puppies from shelters mimicking the parts of football players.

County officials say the four puppies were part of a litter of six found abandoned in a crate outside the shelter in Teterboro on a cold night in October.

The puppies were placed into foster care until they were old enough to be spayed and micro-chipped. They have since been placed in new homes.

Shelter officials remind the public that there are plenty of other dogs like these four that are still awaiting new homes.

Anyone interested in adoption is invited to call the shelter at 201-229-4600 or stop by at 100 United Lane in Teterboro.

The county plans to host a “Puppy Bowl Pep Rally” Friday at 2 p.m. at the shelter.
